Biography

I hold a BSc (Hons) Geography degree from the University of Aberdeen, graduating with a 2.1 classification in 2023. After graduating, I worked for SEPA in their North-West Hydrometry team, ensuring Scotland's Hydrometric Network was maintained for essential flood and drought forcasting. This hands-on role complemented and boosted skills and knowledge I had learnt in my undergraduate degree, in the field of hydrology.

I’m now back at the University completing my PhD. This is in partnership with Chivas Brothers and The James Hutton institute. This research, which will be carried out over the next three years, explores, ‘The role of surface and groundwater connections in managing distillery water supplies with Nature-Based Solutions’. The main aim of this project is to evaluate the sensitivity and reliability of water supply in different landscapes across Speyside. Through doing so it is hoped that the knowledge attained will provide guidance on where and which Nature-Based Solutions would be most suitable to help address supply stress under the increasing threat of climate change.
