Provost

Professor Marnie Campbell

Headshot of Professor Marnie CampbellProfessor Marnie Campbell will be joining as the inaugural Provost at the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai Campus in July 2026.

She is an accomplished academic leader and marine ecologist, she brings more than 20 years of senior executive experience across universities, government, and international organisations.

She champions ethical research, interdisciplinary collaboration, and environmental sustainability, overseeing major research centres including the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning and the Centre for Marine Ecosystem Research.

Her expertise spans marine restoration ecology, environmental science, marine biosecurity, and ecological risk, informed by previous roles such as Executive Dean at Edith Cowan University, Head of School at Deakin University and Research Institute Director at the University of Waikato.

She has contributed to national and United Nations environmental assessments, treaties and conventions, and received multiple awards and recognition for her impact on marine biosecurity, environmental sustainability, and sector leadership.

Computer Science

Professor Dewei Yi

Headshot of Prof Dewei YiAs the lead for the master’s programme in Artifical Intelligence, Professor Dewei Yi, will provide academic and teaching expertise to the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai.

Dr Dewei Yi is a Senior Lecturer in Computing Science at the University of Aberdeen. He contributes teaching across Artificial Intelligence, machine learning, and related fields, including robotics and intelligent systems.

His research interests include computer vision, AI-enabled healthcare, hybrid intelligent systems, robotics, applied machine learning, and intelligent vehicles, alongside applications in areas such as medical image processing and precision agriculture. He joined Aberdeen as a Lecturer in 2020 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2023. He holds a PhD from Loughborough University.

Professor Devarshi Mukherjee

Headshot of Prof Devarshi MukherjeeDr. Devarshi Mukherjee will be joining as a Lecturer in Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen -Mumbai campus. He is currently a Marie Curie Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Oxford, where he conducts advanced research in mathematics.

Dr. Mukherjee has held postdoctoral positions at leading international institutions, including Universität Münster in Germany and Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina. His academic journey began with a joint PhD in Mathematics from the University of Göttingen and the University of Copenhagen.

With a strong international research background spanning Europe and South America, Dr. Mukherjee brings extensive experience in mathematical research and collaboration. His career reflects a commitment to advancing mathematical knowledge through interdisciplinary and global academic engagement.

Professor Juliano Morimoto

Headshot of Professor Juliano MorimotoProfessor Juliano Morimoto is the programme lead for the undergraduate degree in Data Science. He will provide academic and teaching expertise to the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai.

Dr Juliano Morimoto is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen. His teaching is expected to draw on his expertise in applied quantitative and interdisciplinary approaches across biological and computational sciences.

His research spans areas connecting mathematics, statistics, and biological systems, supported by extensive academic and research experience across institutions.

He previously held postdoctoral roles in Australia before joining Aberdeen as a Lecturer in 2020 and was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2022. He holds a BSc in Biological Sciences from the Federal University of Paraná and a DPhil in Zoology from the University of Oxford. 

Professor Miles Everett

Headshot of Professor Miles EverettProfessor Miles Everett is the programme lead for the undergraduate degree in Computing Science. He will provide academic and teaching expertise to the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai.

Dr Miles Everett is a Lecturer in Computing Science at the University of Aberdeen. His teaching focuses on key areas of the computing curriculum and reflects interests in creating effective learning approaches within computer science education.

His research interests include simulations, environments, deep learning, and techniques for visually explaining computer science concepts. He is based within the School of Natural & Computing Sciences and contributes to teaching and scholarship within the department. His academic background includes higher education at the University of Aberdeen.

Professor Mark Grant

Professor Mark Grant is the programme lead for Mathematics. He will provide academic and teaching expertise to the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai.

Dr Mark Grant is a Reader in Mathematics at the University of Aberdeen. His teaching supports mathematical foundations relevant to computing and related disciplines, particularly within advanced theoretical areas.

His research focuses on algebraic and differential topology and their applications, including links to robotics. He joined the University of Aberdeen as a Lecturer in 2014, was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2018, and to Reader in 2023. He holds an MA from the University of Edinburgh and a PhD from the University of Manchester.

Professor Parminder Singh Reel

Dr. Parminder Singh Reel will be joining as a Lecturer in Computer Science at the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai campus. His work focuses on developing clinically relevant ML tools for diagnosing hypertension using multi-omics clinical data.

He has contributed to major international research initiatives, including the PICTURES project (applying machine learning to NHS MRI scans for dementia prediction) and the Horizon 2020 ENS@T-HT project (using advanced ML and multi-omics integration to classify hypertension subtypes). His contributions have led to several collaborative publications and patents.

Dr Reel holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from Barkatullah University (India), an MSc from the University of Essex as a Chevening Scholar, and a PhD from The Open University supported by the DLR-OU Scholarship.

His doctoral research in medical image registration earned him the IET Postgraduate Engineering Award, and he gained international research experience in Japan and Germany. His research interests include machine learning for healthcare, multimodal clinical and imaging data, and multi-omics data integration.

Professor Trupil Limbasiya

Headshot of Professor Trupil LimbasiyaDr. Trupil Limbasiya will be joining as Assistant Professor at the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai Campus. Dr. Trupil Limbasiya earned his PhD from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS) Pilani and brings dual experience across academia and industry.

His core expertise lies in computer networks, applied cryptography, and cyber-physical systems, focusing on information security and trustworthy intelligent mobility.

As a lead researcher, he has driven government-industry funded projects, secured international patents, and published extensively in reputable journals and conferences. Dedicated to future-ready education, he actively drives interdisciplinary research, curriculum development, and strategic collaborations that foster research-informed teaching in algorithms, networking, and cybersecurity.

Business Management

Professor Benedikt Mihm

Professor Ben Mihm is the programme lead for MA in Economics, He will provide academic and teaching expertise to the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai.

Dr Benedikt Mihm joined the University of Aberdeen Business School as a Lecturer in Economics in 2021. Prior to this, he spent ten years at Otto-von-Guericke University Magdeburg, where he worked as a Research and Teaching Assistant during his PhD and Postdoctoral studies, and also held a Lectureship between 2012 and 2017.

His teaching covers key areas of Economics, including Macroeconomics, Intermediate Microeconomics, Economic Analysis, and dissertation supervision. His research interests include behavioural and experimental economics, applied microeconomics, and public, labour, and development economics. He holds an MA in Economics from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc in Economics from Humboldt University.

Professor Donald Hislop

Headshot photo of Professor Donald HislopAs the lead for an undergraduate programme in Business Management, Professor Donald Hislop, will provide academic and teaching expertise to the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai.

Professor Donald Hislop has been with the University of Aberdeen since 2019 and teaches across Human Resource Management modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including Managing Human Resources and Managing People at Work.

His research focuses on the relationship between technology and work, particularly how emerging technologies shape work practices. His current work explores the impact of artificial intelligence and robotics on professional and service roles, employee experiences of hybrid working, and the use of mobile technologies in business travel. He has served as Editor of Work, Employment and Society and sits on the editorial boards of leading international journals, alongside being a Fellow of the CIPD.

Professor John Storm

Headshot of Professor John StormAs the lead for an MBA programme, Professor John Storm, will provide academic and teaching expertise to the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai.

Dr John Storm is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen and serves as Director of MBA Programmes. His teaching focuses on leadership, entrepreneurship, and executive education, with significant contributions to corporate training programmes delivered in collaboration with global institutions and organisations.

An experienced entrepreneur, he is Co-founder of Outlander Consulting and works internationally on leadership development initiatives. His career spans roles across Asia and Europe, including consulting for start-ups in Beijing, partnership in a China-based training company, and leadership roles in sustainability initiatives in Hong Kong. He continues to engage extensively with industry, delivering executive training programmes for major multinational organisations across three continents.

Professor Jamshid Alinasab

Headshot of Professor Jamshid AlinasabJamshid is a Lecturer in Business Management. He previously worked as a Research Assistant and as an Academic Tutor at the University of Otago.

He holds an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering and two master's degrees in Industrial Management and in Economics and Management. He completed dual PhDs in Marketing Management at the University of Otago, New Zealand, and in Business Administration.

His research interests center on entrepreneurial decision-making under uncertainty, effectuation, real options reasoning, SME internationalization, and the role of artificial intelligence in new venture strategy.

His work appears in journals, including Journal of Business Research, Management International Review, and International Marketing Review. Before joining academia, Jamshid worked in industry as a Business Analyst, Banking and Marketing Expert, and ERP Consultant. He has taught courses in business and marketing, including Integrated Marketing Communications, Marketing Research, and Sales Management.

Professor Mike Felgenhauer

Headshot of Professor Mike FelgenhauerProfessor Mike is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Aberdeen. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Mannheim. Before joining Aberdeen, he held academic positions at the University of Plymouth and Brunel University London, and served as a guest professor at the University of Pennsylvania.

As a microeconomist, his research explores the value of arguments, focusing on applications in Political Economy and the Philosophy of Science. His work is published in leading academic journals, including the International Economic Review, American Economic Journal: Microeconomics, and Games and Economic Behavior.

Professor Russell Williams

Headshot of Professor Russell WilliamsAs the Director of Education at the University of Aberdeen Business School, Professor Russell Williams will provide academic and teaching expertise to the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai.

Dr Russell Williams has been with the University of Aberdeen since 2005 and contributes extensive teaching across Marketing, Digital Marketing, Business Strategy, Leadership, and Project Management. He has led and taught on a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate modules, including Negotiation, Consumer Behaviour, and Marketing Dissertations, and currently serves as Programme Leader for online MSc Marketing Management.

He has held several leadership roles, including Programme Director for MBA programmes and Director of Graduate Programmes, and previously served as Dean of the Qatar Campus.

His research interests include negotiation, social media marketing, crowdfunding, and luxury marketing, with publications across leading academic journals.

Professor Sarabjot Kaur

Headshot of Professor Sarabjot KaurDr. Sarabjot Kaur will be joining as Assistant Professor at the University of Aberdeen, Mumbai Campus. Dr. Sarabjot Kaur’s teaching and research interests encompass Strategy, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation, with a particular focus on AI-driven entrepreneurial ecosystems, innovation strategy, and emerging technology adoption.

She has over seven years of experience in higher education teaching, research, and academic administration. She holds a Ph.D. from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur and was awarded a Gold Medal in MBA from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra.

Dr. Kaur also serves as a Visiting Researcher at Yuan Ze University and Chaoyang University of Technology, Taiwan, and has undertaken international faculty development and academic engagement initiatives with globally recognised institutions, including The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. 

Professor Sandhya Mishra

Dr. Sandhya Mishra holds a Ph.D. in Strategic Management from the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and a Master's degree from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai. She studies extreme organizational phenomena, including large-scale transformations, innovation, and systemic disruptions, with a particular focus on how organizations adapt, build resilience, and create value in resource-constrained settings.

Her scholarship examines the epistemological foundations that shape how these phenomena emerge and evolve. Dr. Mishra is passionate about teaching strategy and fostering critical inquiry into contemporary organizational challenges, helping students connect theoretical insights with real-world managerial practice.
