James Martin was selected to participate in the Leiden University Summer School on EU–UN Global Governance, held at its Hague campus. The Summer School offered an exceptional learning experience, combining the study of international law with broader perspectives on international relations and global governance.
Throughout the programme, Martin heard from an outstanding range of scholars and practitioners who delivered insightful lectures on topics spanning EU–UN cooperation in security policy, the role of the European Central Bank in safeguarding the monetary union, and the challenges of global governance in an increasingly multipolar world shaped by overlapping crises. In addition to the lectures, James visited both the International Criminal Court and the International Court of Justice and gained valuable insights into the work of the judges and the courts' procedures.
