Lizeth Moreno Marquez, an ACCPIL member and Law School PhD student, recently presented her work at the Japan International Conference (IVRJ Conference 2026) in Kanazawa, Japan. Her paper, titled "Rethinking Conscientious Objection for Environmental Sustainability", was part of the panel "Justice and Fairness", which brought together scholars examining contemporary issues in justice studies and related fields.
For Lizeth, the conference offered a rare opportunity to test her ideas in front of specialists whose work directly intersects with her own. The discussions that followed the presentation provided detailed feedback, particularly on her concept of conscience.
Presenting at the IVRJ Conference also allowed Lizeth to connect with researchers working on similar themes, opening possibilities for future collaboration and giving her a clearer sense of how her work fits within ongoing international debates.
This experience marks an important step in Lizeth's doctoral journey, strengthening both the substance of her research and her confidence in contributing to wider academic conversations.
