PhD student Lizeth Moreno Marquez, an ACCPIL member, delivered a presentation at the 6th Young Legal Researchers Conference, held in Hasselt, Belgium in December 2025. The conference brought together early-career researchers to share perspectives and foster dialogue on Quarter-Century Milestones: The Next Generation's Reflections on Legal Breakthroughs and Drawbacks.
In her presentation, “Between Ethics and Obligation: Institutional Conscientious Objection in Medicine in Legal Perspective”, Lizeth examined the legal implications of institutional conscientious objection, focusing on its compatibility with international human rights law and its impact on access to healthcare. The session encouraged thoughtful exchanges among participants while underscoring the relevance of institutional conscientious objection in current academic debates.
The event also provided valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration, with feedback from peers helping to shape future directions for Lizeth’s research.
