Biography
A graduate of the Universities of Glasgow, Pennsylvania and Cambridge, Professor Ford moved to Aberdeen in 2013 after teaching for more than twenty years at Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.

Research Overview
Professor Ford's field of research is legal history generally and more particularly the legal history of early modern Scotland. His central concern is with the history of legal thought, but he also works on the history of maritime law and on institutional history.
