Join the Law School Research Festival!

Discover what the work of a legal researcher truly involves, explore the impact of our exciting research, and connect with our vibrant community of postgraduate researchers. The festival offers lively discussions, hands‑on engagement, and networking opportunities that can spark ideas for future collaborations and projects.

The festival will run over 2 days:

• 27 May Postgraduate Conference in New King's 1 & 6.

The PGR conference will feature four sessions: a keynote; research presentations in which PGR students share their projects and findings; a three-minute thesis competition, challenging students to distil their research into a short period of time; and a roundtable discussion exploring the experiences of women in academia.

• 28 May Staff Research Festival in King’s College G7 and James MacKay Building

In the morning (9.30am-12.55pm), Law School academics will discuss the merits and challenges of writing books, book chapters, articles and other research papers in law or at an interdisciplinary level while also presenting the results of cut edge research (eg, on AI regulation, surrogacy, sustainable access to energy and other natural resources).

In the afternoon (2-6pm), there will be a variety of research events, workshops, and roundtables on current and prospective projects (eg, AI and metascience, death and law interactions and connections, treaty negotiation processes in a changing world). See the precise agenda attached.

Coffee breaks and lunch will be served in James MacKay building, alongside a Law School research exhibition.

The day will finish with a BBQ from 6.15pm in King's Quad.
