David Brynmor-Thomas and Greg May share their experiences on arbitration agreements in commercial contracts.

Arbitration agreements are increasingly used in commercial contracts. Join us at this informal event to gain first-hand insights into the realities of arbitration in a commercial context from current expert practitioners.  

David Brymor-Thomas of 39 Essex Chambers, London, and Greg May, Partner, Brodies Aberdeen, will share  their experiences of drafting and following through on agreements.  Their respective talks will include lessons learned through experience, together with tips for good drafting and handling of agreements.

The two presentations will last approximately 30 minutes in total, with the opportunity to ask questions afterwards.    Following the presentations there will be the opportunity to network and enjoy light refreshments in the Law School's Old Senate Room.

David Brynmor-Thomas, 39 Chambers

David Brymor-Thomas practices as counsel in complex, high value international commercial litigation and arbitration. He has particular experience of energy, infrastructure, joint-venture, post-M&A and shareholder disputes.

David is an Honorary Professor in the Centre for Commercial Law Studies, Queen Mary University of London and presently serves as Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also a member of the International Chamber of Commerce’s Commission on Arbitration, and a guest lecturer at the Law School's International Arbitration Summer School.  Find out more about David here

 Greg May, Partner Brodies

Greg May is is a partner  in the oil & gas team at Brodies,  with expertise and particular focus on the drilling and service sectors. He has 20 years of experience as an oil and gas practitioner based in Aberdeen and has worked extensively in-house as well as in private practice. 

Greg is qualified in both English and US law,  a ranked individual by Chambers and Partners and a member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators.  Find more about Greg here.
