In line with latest guidance towards mitigating the consequences of Coronavirus COVID-19, the University is implementing measures to maintain social distancing. Consequently, as of Tuesday 17 March, physical access to the Wolfson Reading Room has been suspended. The Special Collections Centre is located on the lower ground floor of The Sir Duncan Rice Library. Please see the campus map for locations and directions to the library.
Access to the lower ground floor is by the stairs or lift by the Welcome Desk on the ground floor. You will need your Aberdeen University Staff or Student card, or an Aberdeen University External Library Membership Card, to pass through the gates at the Welcome Desk.
Reading Room Pass
If you do not hold a University or External Library Membership Card library you may still access the Reading Room to undertake research with Special Collections materials. Please email email@example.com or visit the Reading Room in person, in advance, to register for a Reading Room Pass.
Please note that in order to complete your registration, and to access the Reading Room, you must bring both photo ID and separate, recent, proof of address with you on your first visit. On arrival at the The Sir Duncan Rice Library, please make your way to the Welcome Desk on the ground floor, staff there will direct you to the Wolfson Reading Room.
Please note that all researchers are asked to sign our Readers' Register on each visit.
