This Earth Day (22 April), we are celebrating women in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Medicine) with an online event featuring Dr Clare Bond, Dr Harriet Teare and Dr Stephanie Ordonez, who will speak about their participation in a global leadership programme which culminates in a voyage to Antarctica in 2022.
Clare, Harriet and Stephanie will join a team of seven women scientists on this life-changing voyage to the Antarctic in partnership with Homeward Bound, a global leadership initiative, which aims to heighten the influence and impact of women in making decisions that shape our planet.
During the run-up to the expedition in 2022, the team will run, cycle, swim and walk the equivalent distance between the UK and Antarctica (16,000 km) to help raise money for the voyage and create awareness of the many brilliant women working to change the world along the way.
Join us on 22 April to hear more about the role of female scientists in tackling the climate crisis and our speakers’ work in inspiring the next generation of female scientists.
