We, the Elphinstone Review, are thrilled to announce that our call for editors is now open! We are seeking dedicated editors to join our new editorial board for the current academic year. For our twelfth volume, we aspire to continue showcasing outstanding work of all disciplines written by students at the University of Aberdeen.
We are looking for enthusiastic students who are eager to contribute to the University of Aberdeen's history of academic excellence through effective collaboration with other editors. Being an editor is not just a role; it's an opportunity to be part of the production of a student-led university journal and acquire a diverse range of skills, which will be incredibly useful to you regardless of your future career plans. Editing and publishing experience is beneficial but not necessary, as we provide guidance and training upon successful application. Undergraduate applicants should currently be at least in their second year of study, and we also welcome postgraduate applicants. We are looking for a varied team, thus we accept applications from all disciplines, including social sciences, music, and natural or medical sciences.
To apply, please send the following documents to elphinstone.review@abdn.ac.uk by midnight on 24 November 2025:
- A cover letter ( 500 words) detailing why you wish to apply and the qualities that would make you suitable for this position.
- A short CV ( two pages).
- A copy of your academic transcript, which can be accessed via Student Hub.
We look forward to receiving your applications and wish you all the best with your studies. If you have any questions, either before or after applying, please feel free to contact us. We are here to support you throughout the application process and ensure that you have all the information you need. Also, keep an eye out for our upcoming call for papers, as we will be accepting authors very soon!
