Professor Gearoid Millar, Professor of Peace and Conflict Studies, will present a talk titled “21st Century Challenges to Peace Work: Theory, Pedagogy, Policy, Practice” on 11 November (13:00–14:30) in the Dockrill Room (KIN 628), King’s Building, Strand Campus, King’s College London.
Hosted by the Centre for the Study of Divided Societies and chaired by Dr Stacey Gutkowski, this event will explore how peace work must adapt to meet the challenges of the 21st century. This talk draws on Professor Millar’s ongoing research comprising more than 150 interviews with academics, practitioners, and professionals from a range of sectors. Professor Millar will question how peacebuilding can evolve to address the increasing challenges it faces.
Professor Millar coordinates the MSc programmes in Peace and Conflict Studies and Policy Evaluation at Aberdeen and has published extensively in leading journals including Journal of Peace Research, International Peacekeeping, and Third World Quarterly.
