Pre-requisites

BT 3006, BT 3004, MB 3003 and any two of the following 30 credit courses: BC 3804, GN 3502, MC 3504 and IM 3802.

This course is a pre-requisite presecription for part of the following degree programmes: Biochemistry with Industrial Placement, Biochemistry (Immunology) with Industrial Placement, Biotechnology (Applied Molecular Biology) with Industrial Placement, Genetics with Industrial Placement, Genetics (Immunology) with Industrial Placement, Immunology with Industrial Placement, Microbiology with Industrial Placement, Molecular Biology with Industrial Placement and Molecular Microbiology with Industrial Placement.

Overview

One year’s practical (usually laboratory) experience in industry. The industrial placement must be relevant to the aims of the degree programme.

Structure

39-40 hours laboratory work per week.

Assessment

1st Attempt: In-course assessment:-Interim Reports (30%), Placement Thesis (50%), Oral exam (20%).
