Biography

Nnenna is a driven and committed energy law academic. Her main interests lie in the intersection between energy and environmental law, human rights law and social justice, and she is currently undertaking PhD research focused on the Just Energy Transition. Her inspiration comes from the need to call attention to the social justice implications of energy development and of the energy transition, particularly as it affects the Global South, to amplify the voices of the most vulnerable within these spaces and ensure that no one is left behind. Her other research interests include the regulation of hydrogen as an energy source, and on the other end of the spectrum, medical law and ethics, particularly as it relates to consent, medical error, and negligence.

Nnenna was born in Enugu state, Nigeria. Prior to pursuing her PhD, she obtained an LLM (with Distinction) in Energy and Environmental Law in  2020, at the University of Aberdeen and an LLB (Second class upper) in 2019 from the University of Sunderland, with a strong focus on corporate and commercial law.
