Biography

Julie is an archaeological conservator. Having trained as an archaeologist and Art historian at the Université François Rabelais de Tours, France, and the University of Montreal, Canada, she specialised in archaeological conservation at Paris 1 University Panthéon-Sorbonne and in the conservation of artefacts from arctic contexts at the Canadian Conservation Institute, Ottawa.

She is conserving the archaeological grass, leather and ceramic artefacts from the Nunalleq site, Alaska (since 2015) and is involved in their study (since 2019).

She is a Research (Curatorial and Conservation) Assistant (2024-2026) for RICHeS Ark of the North, overseeing the move and care of the zooarchaeological reference collection as well as being involved in the design and set up of the new zooarchaeological lab.
