Biography
I am a computational linguist primarily working on natural language generation (NLG), developing new machine learning methods for data-to-text generation, collecting corpora to train systems, and conducting human evaluations (usually through crowdsourcing). I’m also interested in psycholinguistics, linguistic representations, and Bayesian statistics.
At Aberdeen I am working on the ASICA project, helping melanoma survivors to monitor their skin regularly for recurrences or novel melanomas.External Memberships
Board member of SIGGEN since Jan 2023 (term ending Dec 2026). SIGGEN is the special interest group for natural language generation, part of the Association for Computational Linguistics.
