Biography
Tekin is a Research Fellow at HERU. He joined HERU in February 2023 and works for the Health Behaviour theme within HERU. He is currently working on the determinants of health status and well-being measures for patients with fibromyalgia. Tekin’s research interests fall into the fields of health economics, applied microeconomics, experimental economics and gender economics. His research focuses on individual health outcomes and health behaviours, as well as gender differences in health and economic decision-making.
Tekin received his B.S. degree in 2006 and his M.S. degree in 2008 from the Department of Economics at Middle East Technical University (Ankara, Turkey). He obtained his PhD in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh, PA, USA, in 2014. Tekin worked as a Lecturer of Economics at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, (WI, USA) and then as an Assistant Professor of Economics at TED University (Ankara, Turkey). Prior to his current appointment, Tekin was an Associate Professor of Economics at TED University.
