Biography
Carolina began her PhD in the Health Economics Research Unit (HERU) in February 2022 after being awarded with an Elphinstone Scholarship. Her research topic is “Valuing the benefits of oral health interventions for use in economic evaluation”. She will be supervised by Professor Marjon van der Pol and Dr Dwayne Boyers from HERU, and Dr Ekta Gupta from the Dental School. Carolina holds a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Universidad Austral de Chile (2013) and a Master of Public Health from King’s College London (2020). Previously, she worked for 5 years as a public dental health practitioner with deprived communities from southern Chilean rural areas at the Centro de Salud Familiar Rio Bueno.
