The Aberdeen Centre for Women's Health Research (ACWHR) Virtual Away Day took place yesterday. ACWHR were joined by colleagues across the University and the NHS. Professor Amanda Lee, the Director of IAHS gave an informative update on the Institute followed by Professor Ian Stansfield, School Director for Research who gave a presentation on Interdisciplinary research. Dr Yazan Masannat and Dr Alice Mcgee then gave two very insightful perspectives on developing a career in clinical research. This was followed by attendees splitting into smaller groups to discuss the following focused topics:
- Sustainability of ACWHR: Attracting clinical academics to Aberdeen and developing the next generation
- ACWHR visibility and our brand
- Interdisciplinary working: widening our lens
- Global women’s health: our ambitions and strategy
All of which provided very useful and insightful feedback. Overall the event was a great success - thank you to everyone who joined!
The event was recorded and will be shared shortly on the ACWHR webpage. Until then you can contact kelly.gray@abdn.ac.uk for the link to the recording.
