Biography

Stuart joined the Epidemiology Group in February 2019 as a Project Assistant working on the MAintaining MusculOskeleTal Health (MAmMOTH) study. He was promoted to Project Coordinator in 2021, and currently works across a number of studies within the group, including the FocalPoint, Making it Work: Scotland and QUantifying the Impact of Chronic pain on engagement in paid worK (QUICK).

Since March 2022 Stuart has been working to facilitate the Centre for Musculoskeletal Health and Work (CMHW), a cross-institutional, multidisciplinary research collaboration investigating how people can be better supported in work, or to return to work, with a musculoskeletal condition. Initially working as interim Assistant Manager of the Centre, Stuart was promoted to Centre Manager in February 2023.

He also works to provide a number of additional support services to the Epidemiology Group, including maintaining the group’s web pages, working as a coordinator on our Patient and Public Involvement (PPI) group, and helping to coordinate our annual Intensive Course in Applied Epidemiology (ICAE).
