Biography
Xudong Zhu is a PhD candidate in International History at the University of Aberdeen. His research examines statecraft, grand strategy, and great-power competition, with a focus on applying historical and geopolitical frameworks to contemporary challenges in global security and international institutions. He is a postgraduate member of the Royal Historical Society (RHS) and a member of the Association of Chinese Political Studies (ACPS).
He holds an MA in American Studies from Heidelberg University and an LLB in Diplomacy from Jilin University. This academic training underpins his interdisciplinary approach to international history and policy. Recently, he has taught on modern European history, received recognition in the 2025 China Focus Essay Contest, and contributed to initiatives that enhance the international student experience at the University of Aberdeen.
He welcomes opportunities for research collaboration, speaking engagements, and policy-oriented projects.
