Biography

I am currently the Aberdeen Centre for Evaluation (ACE)/Centre for Healthcare Randomised Trials (CHaRT) Quality Assurance (QA) manager. I joined the Unit in October 1997, as a Research Fellow on the Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) study; a randomised trial to evaluate the effectiveness of light therapy in primary care. I then worked as the trial co-ordinator on the REFLUX  trial, a national multicentre trial that looked at the best form of treatment for gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD).

I took on the role of the ACE and CHaRT quality assurance (QA) manager in 2007, and am responsible for developing robust QA systems, integrating them in to the Centre's current best working practices.
