Biography

Rebecca Bruce (Nee Whiting), better known as Becky, joined the Unit in December 2014 as a data co-ordinator/secretary. She is responsible for inputting, retrieving and maintaining data, along with other secretarial duties relating to the trials.  Becky previously worked in the R&D Office, NHS Grampian and associated with the administration of the NHS Grampian Endowment Grants.

Becky is currently working on the following trials:

  • CHESS The Children’s Early Self-Care Support (CHESS) Trial.
  • DIAMOND Deep infiltrating endometriosis: management by medical treatment versus early surgery.
  • FEELGOOD Female Empowerment through Enhanced Living: a comparison of vaginal continence devices and pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) to PFMT alone for female stress urinary incontinence: a feasibility and pilot study 
  • FUTURE Female urgency, Trial of Urodynamics as routine evaluation; a superiority randomised clinical trial to evaluate the effectiveness of invasive urodynamic investigations in management of women with refractory overactive bladder symptoms.

Becky played an active part in the Public Engagement Team 2016 - 2020. The group comprises of staff from varies disciplines who are committed to making our research both relevant and accessible, as well as excellent. They organise activities which are presented at public events to help de-mystify involvement in research to the general public.
