Biography
Rachel has a dual role working in CPD Services and the Public Engagement with Research Unit (PERU).
In CPD Services her role involves bringing academic conferences to the university, ensuring successful delivery, and working with businesses and other organisations to develop short-course training. Rachel also supports the university's activity in the National Energy Skills Accelerator (NESA).
In the Public Engagement with Research Unit, Rachel coordinates a range of activities to support researchers to engage with the public. This includes advising on grant applications, delivering training and running a programme of public engagement events for researchers. She is project manager of the ESPRC-funded Explorathon festival, which is one of Scotland's largest public engagement with research festivals.
Rachel has worked in a range of public affairs and project development roles, working for a local MSP, at the Aberdeen & Grampian Chamber of Commerce and OPITO.
