Research Overview

Nabeeha developed a strong interest in patient-focused research during her undergraduate studies, where she conducted a dissertation on post-stroke fatigue. Her project, titled:

“I feel that it is always there”: A Qualitative Study Exploring the Perspectives of Stroke Survivors, Carers, and Clinicians on Post-Stroke Fatigue, Fatigue Management, and Fatigue Assessment

examined the challenges of post-stroke fatigue and evaluated current fatigue assessment tools from the perspectives of stroke survivors, caregivers, and healthcare professionals.

Building on this interest, Nabeeha began her PhD at the University of Aberdeen in October 2023 as part of the Epidemiology group. Her doctoral project, ‘Chronic pain: from public health impact to impact on public health policy’, explores the chronic pain policy landscape in a national and international context. She employs qualitative research methods and evidence assessment to develop recommendations for improving chronic pain policy development and evaluation.
