Research Overview

I am interested broadly in plant physiological ecology, evolution, and global change biology. My current research focuses on plant thermal tolerances, investigating acclimatory and adaptational processes controlling plant responses to temperature, and scaling these small-scale processes up to inform our understanding of species' responses to global change, as well as biogeographical patterns/distributions. I am also interested in exploring tolerance tradeoffs, particularly between responses to thermal and hydraulic stress.

Research Areas

Biological and Environmental Sciences

Past Research

Previous research, in collaboration with Adam Martin has focused on plant economics: functional trait based resource use strategies exhibited across plant species, as well as functional linkages to plant hydraulics, as drivers of plant responses to environmental change.
