Current Research
'A Creative Exploration of The Experiences of Women Navigating the Criminal Justice System in North East Scotland' - A narrative exploration of women’s experience as victims, accused, witnesses, professionals and members of the public. The final thesis will inform public policy and identify flaws or biases in the existing system. The central narrative, modelled on criminal proceedings in Aberdeen High Court, will investigate the experiences of women navigating the criminal justice system. Bringing together contemporary experience, through interviews and public records, to improve understanding of criminal justice processes and the impact upon individuals who find themselves forced to navigate a complex, unrelenting, and opaque system.
