About

Biography

Faiza is a Gynaecological Oncology surgical fellow based in London. She was awarded a fellowship to undertake a PhD at Queen Mary University of London which she completed in 2020. Her thesis has led to changes in clinical practice for women with hereditary ovarian cancer along with numerous publications, presentations and invited lectures. Faiza was awarded the Trainee Prize for her research into the surgical prevention of ovarian cancer by the British Gynaecological Cancer Society (BGCS).

Faiza is pursuing a career in academic Gynaecological Oncology. Her research interests are focused around surgical outcomes following Gynaecological Oncology surgery. She is the founder and lead of the Global Gynaecological Oncology Surgical Outcomes Collaborative (GO SOAR). She is Chief Investigator of GO SOAR1 (an international prospective cohort study comparing morbidity & mortality following Gynaecological Oncology surgery between human development index grouped countries); PROMEGO (study developing artificial intelligence algorithms to provide personalised risk estimates for post-operative morbidity and mortality); and a study investigating the integration of robotic surgery into routine Gynaecological Oncology practice. Faiza's programme of research is funded by The NHS Grampian Endowment Fund, Medtronic and Karl Storz.
