Biography
Dr Ali-Gombe completed his PhD in Computing from Robert Gordon University, Aberdeen, in 2020. He was then involved in a two-year Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project as a KTP associate, researching and implementing a multi-model candidate authentication system in collaboration with academic and industry partners. He then worked in the industry as a Machine Learning Engineer for three years, contributing to various AI projects including the development of an identity verification system using AI.
Dr Ali-Gombe joined Aberdeen University in 2025 as a Research Fellow at the Aberdeen Bio-Medical Imaging Centre. He is currently working on the PUFFINS Brain Health project, which focuses on developing AI models to assess brain health using Field Cycling MRI. Dr Ali-Gombe has published his work in top journals and conference proceedings, including the Neurocomputing Journal, the Neural Networks Journal, and IJCNN among others.
