Business School's first HEA Senior Fellow

Dr W David McCausland, Head of Economics, became the Business School's first Senior Fellow of the HEA (Higher Education Academy) in September 2014.

Dr W David McCausland, Head of Economics, became the Business School's first Senior Fellow of the HEA (Higher Education Academy) in September 2014. He is the University's second Senior Fellow to date. The HEA works with universities to improve the professional experience of HE teachers through fellowships, accreditation, awards and professional development provision. HEA Senior Fellows have demonstrated a sustained track record in HE teaching and management and lead or manage established academic teams. Dr McCausland joined the University of Aberdeen in 1995 has developed a strong profile in research leadership, teaching innovation and administrative expertise. He is an Associate of the Economics Network and has received three awards recognising excellence in teaching: the HEA Economics Network 2006 E-learning Award, the 2009 (student-nominated) College of Arts and Social Sciences Award for Excellence in Teaching, and the 2011 Student Nominated Teaching award from the Economics Network.
