Aberdeen Student Campaigns for Hillary Clinton

Aberdeen Student Campaigns for Hillary Clinton

Fourth year Politics and International Relations student, Cameron Hill, has been out on the streets campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire.

The Presidential candidates will face their first true test of national electability today as 12 states and one territory go to the Polls on what is known as Super Tuesday. Donald Trump is currently leading the Republican field and Hillary Clinton is leading the Democrats. Earlier this year, a fourth year Politics and International Relations student, Cameron Hill, was out on the streets campaigning for Hillary Clinton in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Cameron participated in a new programme ’45 for the 45th’, which is a not-for-profit organisation which sends 45 of the brightest and most politically engaged university students from around the United Kingdom to help on a presidential campaign.

Cameron told us that “the opportunity to observe the primaries has given me a valuable new lens through which to observe politics in the UK. The American political system is fascinating and I would fully recommend that anyone who has the chance should participate in a programme such as 45 for the 45th. It was a great experience to campaign for Hillary Clinton, and whilst I personally would like to see Bernie Sanders win the nomination, getting to work on such an organised and large campaign is an experience I will never forget”
