How should health information be presented to the public?

Health and health research are often in the news. Sometimes the information made in these reports is accurate but often it can be hard to understand, and sometimes wrong.

The DECIDE project (www.decide-collaboration.eu) works with organisations that produce guidelines that are used by doctors, nurses and other health professionals to provide high quality health care. Some of these organisations also produce versions of these guidelines for the public. To improve the way these present health information, we would like the opinions of members of the public.

What would we like you to do?

We are using a leaflet produced by the Scottish Dental Clinical Effectiveness Programme (http://www.sdcep.org.uk/), which gives dental advice to patients who have been prescribed a bisphosphonate medicine. It doesn’t matter if you have never been prescribed this medicine. We have two versions of this leaflet and we want to see whether one is more useful than the other. You will only see one: which version you see will be picked for you at random.

Taking part should take less than 10 minutes. The website works best on laptops and desktops, performance on iPads and iPhones is a bit unpredictable.
