Tribute paid to former Rector

The University of Aberdeen community is saddened to learn of the death of one of our former Rectors, celebrity chef and broadcaster, Clarissa Dickson Wright.

Clarissa, who was 66, was extremely popular with students during her tenure which ran from 1999 to 2004.

One half of the popular TV cookery duo, Two Fat Ladies, Clarissa brought her individualism and style to many University of Aberdeen events – including the creation of a medieval feast in support of student hardship funds.

She also brought to the role an incisiveness which reflected her former career as a barrister.

Our thoughts are with her family at this sad time.
