From punk rock to climate science

Environmental scientist Professor Pete Smith is the latest expert to give a talk taking inspiration from the House of Annie Lennox exhibition at Aberdeen Art Gallery.

The University of Aberdeen professor, who was in a punk band of his own when Annie Lennox was in the Eurthymics, is giving a talk tomorrow night (August 23) entitled From Punk Rock to Climate Science.

Beginning at 7pm, the talk will discuss climate change – a subject close to Annie’s heart.

The event is the last in this series of Discovery Gallery - fortnightly evening talks organised by the University of Aberdeen in partnership with Aberdeen Museums.

Tickets for the event cost £4 or £3 concessions and can be booked in person at the Art Gallery Shop or by calling 01224 523695.

Visitors can enjoy the exhibition over complimentary refreshments ahead of the talk which is then followed by an audience discussion.

Discovery Gallery is supported by Aberdeen Museums and Galleries and the University of Aberdeen through a science engagement grant from the Scottish Government.
