From duck racing, to leg waxing and cake baking – University staff and students get charitable in su

Rubber duck racing, leg waxing and cake baking are on the cards for students and staff at the University of Aberdeen today (Friday 13 March) and tomorrow (Saturday 14 March) - as charitable efforts get underway in support of Comic Relief.

Staff from the University's Human Resources department will adorn a colourful array of fancy dress costumes as they host a bake sale today from 10am – 12noon in room 101 of the University Office.

Whilst staff from the University's Finance department, will be auctioning off a range of items to the highest bidder throughout today.

Aberdeen Student Charities Campaign have organised a rubber duck race along the River Dee tomorrow Saturday (14 March).

Sponsorship of each duck will cost just £2.  The event will kick off at 11am at the bank of the River Dee, along Riverside Drive, with a host of activities including fun games and face-painting for children young and old.

The duck race will begin at 12.30pm with prizes on offer for the speediest ducks in the race.

Aberdeen Student Charities Campaign will also test the no pain no gain theory as they host a Comic Relief leg waxing tomorrow in the Hub on Elphinstone Road, King's College Campus between 12-2pm.

All proceeds raised from these events will go to the major fundraising campaign, which supports a multitude of organisations throughout Britain and Africa.
