Dr Sheela Tripathee, post-doctoral researcher based in IAHS, presented her research as part of ACWHR Seminar series.
"I'm glad I did it. Even if it went wrong tomorrow, I've had years of relief."
We were delighted to welcome Dr Sheela Tripathee, a post-doctoral researcher based in the Institute of Applied Health Sciences (IAHS), to present her research as part of the ACWHR Seminar series today.
Sheela talked about the findings of an interview study embedded in the SIMS Randomised Controlled Trial.
SIMS participants completed a questionnaire 3 years after their treatment and were then contacted annually for a further 7 years.
The study gives voice to 39 women’s experiences of living with stress urinary incontinence (SUI), deciding to receive a treatment and looking back on that decision years later.
Most women felt well informed, had a positive attitude towards their participation in the SIMS trial and were satisfied with their treatment decision with no regret.
