SGSAH-funded internship has prompted an exciting new blog from one of our Aberdeen PG researchers.
LLMVC doctoral researcher Siân MacGregor recently undertook an internship with innovative Glasgow-based performance company Guesthouse Projects.
Their most recent dance-theatre performance, The Show for Young Men, interrogates intergenerational relations and masculinity, and is based upon a duet between a man and a young boy. As part of this 'knowledge exchange' placement, Siân travelled with the company as they performed at several festivals earlier this year: Imagine (London), Krokus (Belgium) & Starke Stucke (Germany).
Her particular focus was on the physical and emotional labour involved in touring with small companies, as well as issues of precarity in the sector overall.
Siân is particularly grateful to Guesthouse Projects and to SGSAH (AHRC) for the opportunity, and as part of it, SGSAH has published a blog about her experiences: LINK
