CGEBM Illumina New Technologies Talk: Genomics, Proteomics, Single-Cell, Spatial Biology & more

A big thank-you to Illumina for a stimulating lunch & learn session this week on Illumina’s expansion into multiple new omics directions:

  • TruPath Genome sequencing using Proximity Mapped Reads
    • Multiple reads per long molecule, rather than just single or paired end.
    • Offers phased epigenomes and improved genome sequencing
  • 5 base solution
    • Convert genomic methylated 5mC rather than unmethylated
    • Post-processing distinguishes mutations from methylated bases
    • Low input
  • Improved RNA sequencing
    • Low Input, rapid assay
  • Single cell RNA sequencing
    • Emulsion generated by vortex only
    • Low equipment cost
  • StrataMap Spatial Transcriptomics
    • Handles large tissue sections
    • Cell level binning achieves cellular resolution
    • Lower cost
  • Proteomics
    • 9.5K protein targets in 200+ pathways

Please come and have a chat or drop an email to Dr Elaina Collie-Duguid at CGEBM if you’re interested in any of these or want to find out more….
