The University's all-female a cappella group, The Killer Quines, has achieved a historic milestone after making it through to the UK finals of a major international singing competition.
The group secured second place at the quarterfinals of the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella (ICCA) at Aberdeen’s Tivoli Theatre on 31 January 2026, where the group competed against nine other ensembles.
This marks the first time in The Killer Quines’ history that they have placed second at the ICCA quarterfinals, earning them a place in the UK finals, which also serve as the international semifinals.
The group will now go on to compete against the nine top collegiate a cappella groups in the UK at the New Wimbledon Theatre in London on 7 March 2026.
The achievement represents a significant moment for the group who have only reached this stage once before, back in 2017.
