Understanding Exercise in Parkinson's

Exercise is crucial for maintaining physical function, mobility, and mental well-being in people with Parkinson's. However, many individuals with Parkinson's do not engage in as much exercise as recommended. This project is funded by the NHS Grampian Charity and will explore the barriers and facilitators to exercise for people with Parkinson's, as well as the perspectives of healthcare professionals and informal carers on supporting exercise in this population. The aim is to develop practical recommendations that could be incorporated into existing national guidelines, such as those from Parkinson's UK, with a particular focus on supporting individuals with Parkinson's who are currently sedentary.

Project Team: Dr Louisa Lawrie, Dr Clare Cooper, Dr Julie Jones (RGU) and Dr Angus MacLeod
