Support for Windows 10 ends in October. This means that the University must ensure that all its Windows PCs and laptops* are upgraded to Windows 11 before this date.
Automatic upgrades will be pushed to staff devices from Tuesday 27th May to ensure all University assets are upgraded in good time.
The first stage of installation will run in the background. The final stage will require a restart, which can take up to 2 hours. You’ll receive a Windows notification allowing you to schedule this restart at a convenient time within a 7-day window. After this period, the device will automatically reboot.
