New Publication: Reducing inequalities in liver cancer diagnosis, treatment and care across the UK

Dr Aravinda Guntupalli Dr Sheela Tripathee, Prof Sara MacLennan, and several IAHS colleagues have published their recent research findings in NIHR Open Research:

Liver cancer (Hepatocellular Carcinoma - HCC) is the fifth most common cancer worldwide, and the number of people diagnosed with and dying from liver cancer is increasing.

The ICANEQUAL partnership project aimed to

  • identify equitable and appropriate care for HCC across the UK
  • understand patient experiences of the current clinical pathway
  • develop and evaluate an ‘optimal’ new care pathway and
  • build a Community of Expertise in HCC

Three virtual workshops were be held between September 2023 and February 2024 with partners from charities, community groups, and patient groups, Healthcare professionals and researchers
