University of Aberdeen in global top 20 for real estate research

The University of Aberdeen has been ranked 3rd in the UK, 4th in Europe and 19th in the world for its real estate research.

One of only three UK universities to feature in the top 20, a total of 582,000 citations from 53,000 academic papers across 740 universities were used to calculate the ranking.

Aberdeen appears alongside Cambridge, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cornell, Singapore and Hong Kong universities in the EduRank Best Universities 2024 table.

The University’s real estate research contributes to shaping the future of urban development, investment and sustainability.

The dedicated group, which is housed within the Business School and includes the Centre for Real Estate Research, serves as a focal point for interdisciplinary research in real estate investment and property market analysis.

Professor Norman Hutchison, Director of the Centre for Real Estate Research at the University of Aberdeen, said: “The outcome confirms the quality and relevance of the research conducted by real estate colleagues at Aberdeen. We have a strong global reputation for our teaching and research.”

Professor Nicholas Forsyth, Vice-Principal Research, added: “This list celebrates those institutions which are driving impactful research in the real estate sector around the world.

“We are pleased to have our longstanding commitment to research excellence and interdisciplinary working recognised in this latest ranking which is testament to the important work being undertaken by our academic community.”
