Law Academics Will Take Part in a Funded Erasmus and Strategic Partnership on Digitalization in Law

Digitalization has transformed almost all aspects of our society, including the legal profession. Legal education, however, is still trying to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and their implications for legal practice, on the one hand, and the knowledge and skills that our graduates need for the digital age, on the other hand.

Dr Katarina Trimmings and her colleagues from the School of Law Dr Patricia Živković, Dr Burcu Yüksel Ripley, and Dr Rossana Ducato will provide their contribution to this challenging issue of digitalization in legal education by working on the collaborative project “Time to Become Digital in Law” (DIGInLaw) thanks to an Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership.

The project, run together with the Universities of Osijek, Zagreb, and Milan, aims to raise awareness of the importance of digital literacy and digital competence for the legal profession.

To this end, the project will create 12 new MOOCs with topics ranging from family law in the age of modern technologies, to cryptocurrencies, and algorithmic discrimination. These e-courses will be released in open access format.
