Department Welcomes New Academic Staff

The Department of Music is very pleased to welcome two new members of staff who have recently begun at the university and represent a continuation of the new and exciting recent developments for the Department.

We welcome Dr Jane Forner as a Teaching Fellow in Music and James O’Neil as a Teaching Fellow in Music Education. Jane recently completed her PhD at Columbia University, New York with the thesis "Distant Pasts Reimagined: Encountering the Political Present in 21st-Century Opera" under the supervision of George Lewis. James has been a secondary school teacher and faculty head for over ten years and joins his alma mater having already done some freelance work for the university. Both are on three-year contracts and follow on from the appointments of Chris Collins, John De Simone and Matthew Machin-Autenrieth earlier this year.
