New Aberdeen Centre for the Classical Association of Scotland

Will serve the North of Scotland. This semester's programme opens with a lecture by Professor Robert Segal, 'The Myth of Adonis' on 20 January 2020 at 17.15hrs, Room 302, MacRobert building, Aberdeen University.

Thereafter, talks will be held in Room 302 of the MacRobert building from 17.15hrs to 18.30hrs, on the first and third Mondays of the month (except during Easter vacation).  

Events for 2020 begin with a lecture by Professor Segal: 

20 January: Professor Robert Segal (University of Aberdeen), ‘The Myth of Adonis: Myth-Ritualist, Structuralist, and Psychological Approaches’ 

3 February: Professor Peter Thonemann (University of Oxford), ‘Sex dreams in the Ancient World’ 

17 February: Professor Andrew Laird (Brown University, US), ‘Virgil on the Other Side of World’ 

2 March: Doctor Tom Geue (University of St. Andrews) title, tba

16 March: Professor John Wilkins (University of Exeter), Food in Ancient Art’

4 May: Professor Richard Seaford (University of Exeter) title, tba

18 May: Doctor Emma Buckley (University of St. Andrews) title, tba

1 June: Professor Frederik Pedersen (University of Aberdeen) title, tba
