Dr Daria Shapovalova presented a paper at the TRAMEREN conference. An international research consortium of international Law Schools ranging from Copenhagen to New York.

In June, 2019 the TRAMEREN conference on Arctic Environmental and Climate Change Governance was held at the University of Copenhagen. This international research consortium was established between:

  • Copenhagen School of Law
  • Center for International Law Conflict and Crisis (CILCC)
  • Center for Enterprise Liability (CEVIA) of the University of Copenhagen
  • Frank J. Guarini Center on Environmental, Energy and Land Use Law, New York University School of Law

The two-day conference explored:

  • Arctic shipping
  • Petroleum activities
  • Climate change
  • Indigenous rights

Daria’s paper examined the climate case for leaving Arctic oil and gas in the ground focusing on the possibility of petroleum supply regulation through more transparent impact assessment and consideration of global climate goals.

Daria is now finalising the paper for submission to publication.
