GIS MSc students win awards from Hydrographic Society of Scotland

For the second year running The Hydrographic Society of Scotland has offered a Student Award scheme for the MSc students in the GIS Degree Programme at Aberdeen University, a link that was set up two years ago by Dr David R. Green - Director of the MSc in GIS Degree Programme.

Each student is asked to write and submit a paper for consideration and to make a presentation to a small panel of judges from the Hydrographic Society in Scotland chaired by Nicki Nicholls, Project Controls Co-ordinator at Andrews Survey Ltd. in Aberdeen.

Alana Stewardson-Blackwell was the winner this year, and was awarded a prize of £500 and invited to dinner at the Annual Members Dinner in Aberdeen, whilst Ewan Carter and Daniel Ramirez both received £250 as runners up.

Alana now has a position at Fugro, and Ewan will be joining Andrews Survey in September.
