Dr Susan Stokeld will be delivering a Master Class entitled 'The power of effective listening and communication in negotiation' at the 2017 International Negotiation Competition in Oslo today.
Her class will draw on her experiences as a magistrate in the Scottish Criminal Courts and will explore the value of ‘active listening’ and ‘listening well’, demonstrating how these can lead to effective negotiation. She will suggest that successful negotiation is often less about resolving conflicting positions between parties and more about understanding potential conflict of interests. Susan recently introduced a negotiation course within the Law School's DPLP programme.
Susan is also on the judging panel of this renowned International competition
