Dr Couzigou at the Conference for the Criminalization of Cyber Terrorism

Dr Couzigou was invited by Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, to talk at the conference for the criminalization of cyber terrorism, in Abu Dhabi on 15 and 16 May. Dr Couzigou presented a paper on the necessity for a treaty countering cyber terrorism. The conference, attended by representatives of States, international organisations and NGO from the five continents, was held in Arabic, English and French. The main objective of the conference was to launch innovative ideas in order to foster international cooperation and develop a deeper understanding of the new challenges faced by government entities and international organizations with the increasing exploitation of cyberspace by terrorist groups. The conference is the first step towards the drafting of an international treaty banning all forms of cyber terrorism that the United Arab Emirates want to initiate.
